120 second (+) video pitch for BOYS.
In what has become a tradition in most of my scripts, I have a character named "Shannon" within the story.
In BOYS, "Shannon" is Mickey's beloved childhood doll.
It's the summer of 1982. Following their parents' bitter divorce,
13-year old Mickey and his older brother Wade stay in the country with their farm-hand father, Acre. This season of unexpected self-discovery for Mickey coincides with some mysterious and violent changes to the world at large.
From filmmaker Monte Light, regarding one of the script's later sequences:
"The scene between Acre and Mickey, after Acre's head is injured and Mickey is caught sipping a beer,
is goddamn poetry. It's beautiful, poignant, the kind of stuff you win awards for."
