LENGTH: The piece is a feature-length screenplay.
LOGLINE: Sid has returned from the dead, only to face a whole new way of "living" -- dealing with his past, friends and family, while simultaneously making sense of the events unfolding around him, including a growing awareness of his appetite for living flesh.
INSPIRATION: Following a vivid zombie dream (which randomly included actress Helen Hunt), the script's central idea was born. This dream scenario (altered, of course) remains in the completed script.
BEGINNINGS: This script was my first foray into screenwriting. The piece was begun in 2004.
MUSICAL INSPIRATIONS: The 2004 studio album from Tears for Fears (Everybody Loves a Happy Ending) served as background music for the majority of this script's creation.
INTRODUCTION TO SHANNON: A secondary character named "Shannon" was introduced in this piece. Since then, I've had a character named "Shannon" in almost every one of my subsequent scripts.
GENRE: Zombie Horror.
PAGE COUNT: One hundred twenty-six (126) pages.
PROTECTION: The piece has been registered with the WGA; West.
DRAFTS: Four (4) drafts have been completed.
TABLE READ: A first reading was held in early 2006 with actors Kirk Gillman, Jennifer Grace, Lorri Hamm, Michael Klug, Eric Roach, Penny Slusher and Jason Wilson.
DEVELOPMENT: The piece is currently being restructured into an 8-episode limited series format.
